Thread: FAQ: What are the differences between Mode 1 and Mode 2 ?

  1. #11
    thanks Chris,
it's not the case, it works. but since i changed transmitter, have little problems like only two motors running, and also running when connecting battery, with no moves on transmitter. binding gives a solution to that, but i believe it shouldn't be. or maybe have to make some kind of update for the electronic board?

    Regards,
    jean

Yes, this is not a related issue to changing from Mode 1 to Mode 2 or 3. It appears like your flight controller may have an issue or you will first need to recalibrate the transmitter using this simple procedure:

    Remove batteries from remote control.

    2. Bring sticks to midposition and throttle to 0
    3. Wait 1 minute
    4. Push mode and on/off button while inserting batteries.
    5. RC should beep
    6. Move both sticks to all ends. You can do circles with both sticks. It doesn't matter how many circles you are doing.
    7. Put all sticks to middle and throttle to 0
    8. Push on/off button
    9. Rebind remote control to copter

This may help. If not you may need to check the version of your flight controller. Remove the canopy and check whether there is a sticker located on the flight control board (should an orange sticker). If not, you may have an older / early version. It will need to be replaced against the latest version.

    Hope it helps.

    Hey Jean,

Looks like Chris already has you headed in the right direction.

Please let us know how everything is going and if you have your unit flying appropriately.

Chris already gave a very guided walk through of the transmitter recalibration process.

Figured I'd just share this video of the tx calibration if it helped any visually.

    Regards,
    Jamie

Are all UK supplied R8 transmitters supplied as mode 2? In learning, throttle (left hand) is showing as Ch3. Quick reply please as a return is currently possible. Many thanks.

The R8 regardless where it is sold always supports all modes including mode 1 and mode 2. There is no specific mode 1 or mode 2 R8, the mode simply depends on your personal choice of R8 setup.
