    First impressions of what the new upcoming data-link module will look like. If you have any questions concerning the data-link module, its functions and operation, please post them here. The data-link module works in combination with the advanced T.P.C.S. (Task Point Command System) features and the stock transmitter! Go beyond simple way point flying.

    Welche Daten werden angezeigt zB Volt, amper, Watt , was wurde schon an ma/h verbraucht, geschwin. Sat , hdop, usw vielleicht könnte sich der user selbst seine parameter aussuchen was angezeigt wird in der app,

    This really looks fantastic. Such a clean and simple design. I like that it's not a large or awkward size with any cables coming out of it. Very impressive.

    I agree Jamie. The design is very practical and looks clean as well. Here some additional information related to the upcoming data module.

    1. One button operation - on/off (deep sleep mode enable/disable) and pair (like a Bluetooth headset for example)
    2. LEDs, showing connectivity info, charging info and low battery status
    3. Very compact size with 3 hours operation time, USB charging via Micro-USB port, rechargeable battery included
    4. Communicates with mobility device where App is installed (EYE Control) within 10 meters range

    How does it work?

    Basically the smartphone (or any other mobility device like a tablet) where the iOS or Android EYE Control App is installed communicates with the Data Link Module via Bluetooth in realtime within a range of 10 meters. The Data Link Module directly transfers the received data packages into the stock transmitter via the trainer port and forwards data packages back to the App. The stock transmitter acts as transponder, sending and receiving data between the NovaX and the stock transmitter. This allows pilots to directly influence the autonomous flight commands or T.P.C.S. settings even while the NovaX is at flight. As soon as the pilot takes over manual control T.P.C.S. is disabled automatically until the pilot decides to re-activate it.

    Virtually you can touch with your finger on a map within the App and have the NovaX fly exactly to that location, even while the NovaX is airborne. This system also activates a follow-me option.

    Awesome design. Form follows function. I like it. The only one question to be clarified, will it still work in trainer & student mode. Anyway great job guys!

    Very true. And best - we may even give it away for free to those of you who already purchased a NovaX from either our partner or us directly. Don't worry, it will happen! We are already preparing for tooling stage and production. Anticipated release date is end of October (tooling needs time).

    You can still make use of the trainer port for student trainer applications. As soon as the Data Link Module is connected the trainer function is not available. However, this shouldn't really be a concern since the NovaX is supposed to fly autonomous while the Data Link Module is attached and activated by the pilot. Another safety feature is of course the RTH and fail safe function which remains active at all times.

    I suggest if teaching a student how to use T.P.C.S. have the trainer pilot hold the transmitter in case manual control is required and have the student control the mobile device (the App) while standing next to the trainer pilot. In such case the pilot may still interact with the student pilot while holding the transmitter.
